Shotty Bongs
What is a shotty bong?
A shotty bong is a bong with a small opening on the side called a shotty hole, carb hole or carburettor. This hole controls airflow into the chamber. Covering it allows smoke to build up, while uncovering it lets fresh air enter to help clear the chamber without removing the cone piece. “Shotty bong” describes this feature, rather than a particular shape—you’ll find it on beaker bongs, straight tubes and other designs.
Why choose a bong with a shotty or carb hole?
A bong with a shotty hole offers simple airflow control and convenient chamber clearance. Instead of lifting out the cone piece, you can release the shotty to let fresh air into the chamber while keeping your bowl and stem in place.
It’s a practical choice if you prefer the familiar Australian shotty setup. Some models also include a removable silicone plug, giving you the flexibility to seal the carb hole and clear the chamber by removing the cone piece instead. Check each product description for included plugs and features.
